We are planning an informational and educational event featuring a presentation from Steve Goreham, president of Climate Science Coalition of America that will counter much of the propaganda driving the proposed carbon tax legislation. Our regional communities depend on many jobs in the coal energy sector and higher energy prices are in no ones best interest.
Remember Obama said: "energy prices will necessarily skyrocket"! My own limited research tells me that modern wind turbines will require triple the current electric rates just for them to break even for payback of their construction costs. So, much for the "green" energy and "green" jobs!
Our State Treasurer Richard Mourdock will also address the impact on our state economy from such penalties and give his prospective as a professional geologist and historian.
We are planning on Nat Noland, president of the Indiana Coal Council and Philip Gonet, president of the Illinois Coal Association to be in attendance.
There will be a question period to allow some debate with the speakers.
